A SURREAL NIGHT: ‘MISPLACED’ AT EDEN FINE ART LONDON

IN HONOR OF THE OPENING OF ‘MISPLACED’ EDEN FINE ART TRANSFORMED THEIR GALLERIES INTO A SURREALIST VISION.

No one puts the ART in a party like Eden Fine Art Gallery. In honor of the opening of my ‘MISPLACED’ exhibition, Eden Fine Art transformed their galleries in London into a surrealist vision, using the elements of my paintings to decorate the walls and populate the gallery.

Minions took selfies with gallery-goers, an astronaut roamed the crowd with one of the ladies from my “Flower’s Daughters” collection, and pink and purple feathered ostriches did acrobatics among the paintings and sculpture, an art form themselves. The opening also celebrates the publication of my artist book, ANGELO ACCARDI: MISPLACED, a collection of my works for the last two decades, which includes essays and quotes describing my artwork and collections.

‘MISPLACED’ comes from a search for new sensations, to reveal contradiction in the everyday. I believe of all the art forms, Pop Art is the most direct and understandable. It’s made of everyday elements, which make the genre more relatable. It is the deepest representation of the cultural moment we live in, a collection of our history and a prediction of our future. These works endeavor to (at least symbolically) represent the political, cultural, and creative challenges of our time–all with a sense of humor.

It was satisfying to join so many fans of my work for a night of celebration at Eden Fine Art. Stay tuned for more collaborations with the gallery, and new artworks by yours truly. Grazie from my heart to all the guests and collectors, and of course to the gallery owners and the staff at Eden Fine Art for an unforgettable event. See you next time!
